If you’re looking for Prague hotels that are great yet affordable, then read on.
We visited Prague one summer and we were just enchanted with its towering spires, Baroque buildings, Gothic churches, grand bridges, and medieval structures. I hope to go back there again someday.

Hotel Ankora along Kateřinská near Ječná Street ticks all the boxes for the perfect Prague hotel. By the way and just to get this out of the way early on, I’d like to say that I’m not in any way affiliated with the hotel nor will I be paid or get any benefit from doing this post. It’s just that we stayed in this hotel one summer and we were so happy and satisfied with our stay that I want to let others have the same experience.

Also, if you’ve tried searching for Prague hotels using booking sites, you’ll find that you’re given a lot of hotel choices that it’s quite confusing to tell which are the good ones. So with this post, I would like to help you save precious time and energy with your hotel search.
Prague Hotels: Hotel Ankora
We booked Hotel Ankora for our Prague trip because it seemed to be a decent hotel with good rooms and cheap rates. The glowing reviews were a bonus, but I sort of just took them with a grain of salt because based on experience, despite reading all the glowing reviews, you would really find out if a hotel meets your expectations only when you’re already there. As long as it meets my criteria of a safe and convenient location, good beds, and cheap price, I’ll book the hotel. Hotel Ankora met all three during booking.
So when we arrived on a hot summer afternoon in Prague and went straight from the airport to the hotel, we were quite surprised—pleasantly—with our room.
Hotel Room
Hotel Ankora’s rooms are huge. They’re spacious. We booked for four and the space was more than enough. Our other companions who occupied another room also had a roomy one.
The beds were new and large. The décor was good, and what we appreciated so much were the many tables and chairs where we were able to place our things and sit. There was also a mini kitchen with a sink, a small refrigerator, a microwave, and tea-making facilities. A safe was also available for storing valuables.
Bathroom
The bathroom was also roomy. There was a separate shower with state-of-the-art equipment, a Jacuzzi, and a separate toilet. Free toiletries were also available.
Breakfast
Hotel Ankora’s breakfast was something to look forward to. It was a buffet feast with lots of choices. They had different kinds of sausages, eggs cooked in different ways, roasted pork, different salads and cheeses, bread, and many more. I am just so sorry that I wasn’t able to take photos, but it really was the best breakfast we’ve had during our entire trip of country-hopping in Europe.
Prague Hotels Room Rates
Most importantly, Hotel Ankora was reasonably priced. I would even say cheap, so it was a great deal!
Location
Hotel Ankora is near the metro, particularly the I. P. Pavlova station. It is about a two-minute walk from the hotel to that station, so getting around the city is convenient. We used the metro halfway from the airport when we arrived and again when we went to the main train station Hlavni Nadrazi when we left Prague.
The hotel is also near a tram station, which is just a few minutes walk. However, we preferred the metro since it was nearer. For those who prefer to walk, on the other hand, Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square are just around 10 minutes away.
We hope with this post, we’re helping you find a place to stay in Prague. You can check out Hotel Ankora here.
